Superbear
Ah HA! another post made! So today is a final made from a sketch that I did at work while trying to escape the day. I remembered from back when I was a little bear and my favorite (and still is) superhero was Superman. Freaking the coolest thing in my mind, that I wanted to be him with all my little bear might. My mother set up a IBM Selectric typewriter in one corner on a little desk and I would type away at it in my best mild mannered-ness until a calamity would strike somewhere in the house , say like when a pack of graham crackers would need to be rescued, and I would dash into the closet and don my Superman shirt and don my cape (a red towel) and viola!! A super bear to the rescue!
Of course Superman did not eat his rescued peoples like I did the crackers… but you get the picture.
As I sip my adult beverage, I honestly cannot think of a time when imagination could consume me so totally. You don a towel and shirt and make whooshing noises down the hall, in your child mind.. you are flying and battling arch-enemies…
How I hold to that memory, and I think rightly so, for it is that memory that keeps me young.
Never forget when you donned a towel or rescued a graham cracker… stay young.
