Foreign contaminant.
WALL*E has come and gone, and I have to say once again I love Pixar. Wall-e was everything that I had hoped it was, and very funny, even if you come to realize like I did at the end that very few lines of dialogue are actually spoken by the lead characters.
I absolutely dig the art design of the movie, being a artist makes this a big thing for me, If I don’t dig the art the story is lost on me. It really explains why there are gaps in my comic book collection. The fill in artists that try to man the helm while the big dogs are away are horrible and I just can’t dig the story no matter how cool it is.
So back to robotic goodness….
The whole story about out greed and inability to stop driving us to leave Earth is awesome as is the not too subtle digs at corporate thinking and human tendancy to ignore what’s right in front of us. I love the Character of Wall-e and the curious little mannerisms that he has ginned up over his super extended stay on earth. To put not too fine a point on my blunt stick, I freakin loved the character. His expressions and character told with actions and reactions. I also love how everyone he meets changes.
Eve rocks too but on a different level, I kinda got he feel that the whole romance angle was apt, things like Wall-e getting zapped by lightning to cover Eve from rain and still getting back up to cover her again, though she doesn’t appreciart it, really struck a chord in my memories.
All in all a great movie, a great little date movie or out with the kids and family, definately picking it up on DVD to put it next to my other animated faves.
