The Top Five Things I’ve Learned From Spore
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard the basic game mechanics. Cell stage is fast and introduces you to the concepts, while the creature stage is longer and filled with changes. My favorite part of any game is character creation, so the concept of getting DNA points to continually change your creation during this phase was exciting for me. I did, in fact, create my monkey-velociraptor type creatures, but I’m intrigued to create some sort of flying snake and perhaps a bunny with eight legs.
As of today, I’m in the Tribal stage, and it is much easier to win over admirers by showing off your musical skills than by waging war. My tribe hasn’t yet discovered fire, and may have to resort to bribing the tribe that has it, in order to conquer the tribe with the 3rd instrument, who have not been too impressed by my didgeridoo. I’ll be writing up a full review this weekend.
Spore has taught me several things since its release on Sunday, and so I give you:
The Top Five Things I’ve Learned From Spore
1. Everyone bigger than you will try to eat you.
2. If you can’t dance, you won’t make a lot of friends.
3. That saber-tooth kitty you made with the creature creator? Not so cute when it becomes EPIC.
4. Everyone loves to put spikes on their Creations. Spikes hurt.
5. It’s easier to play music than it is to wage war.
